Your Feedback Collected and Being Used to Inform Further Updates on AHC Projects

Feedback has been collected on draft qualifications and skills standards for job roles in permaculture, organic production, composting and pig and poultry farming. Your feedback is now being used to inform further updates to the drafts, which will then be made available for validation.

Permaculture, Organic Production & Composting Project

Consumer demand in locally and sustainably grown food is increasing, so it is important that the skills in permaculture, organic farming and composting are supported with national skills standards. These systems draw on the latest technology, as well as traditional practices, including those used by Indigenous cultures around the world.

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the qualifications, skill sets and units that were drafted to reflect the current skills needs of the permaculture, organic farming and composting sectors.

Your comments will inform further updates to the drafts which will be made available for validation in May 2022.

Pig and Poultry Farming Project

Biosecurity, work health and safety, and animal welfare practices are some of the key skills areas for Australia’s pig and poultry farming industry, along with the ability to work in line with current legislation. It is important these skills are reflected in national skills standards so that industry can continue to produce food for Australian consumers.

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on draft qualifications, skill sets and units for this work. Your comments are now being used to inform further updates to the drafts which will be available for validation in May 2022.
