Work Begins on Pharmaceutical GMP Project

Good manufacturing practice (GMP) is a licensing requirement for pharmaceutical businesses and an essential tool for producing high quality and consistent pharmaceutical goods. However, industry feedback has indicated that the current units of competency for pharmaceutical GMP do not accurately reflect the skills needed.

Consultation will take place throughout this project, so that the GMP units within three pharmaceutical manufacturing qualifications are up to date, accessible and reflect the appropriate Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) level.

Input is welcomed from those with experience in pharmaceutical GMP, so that the updated qualifications, skills set and units reflect real job tasks and skills requirements.

This will equip future learners with the skills they require to produce safe and support the growth of Australia’s pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
