VET System Improvement Survey

Initial survey responses are indicating different views about the role workplaces and RTOs play in skilling Australia’s future workforce.

On behalf of the industries we provide services to, we are conducting research to help us provide support to the IRCs we work with. We are investigating some of the challenges and opportunities for improvements to the VET sector that have been flagged with us by IRCs, industry stakeholders, RTOs and trainers.

Responses are still being received and with more than 250 responses to date, it is interesting to read the widely different opinions people have about the role of workplaces in training and assessment. For example, of the responses so far, 71% of participants agree or strongly agree that workplaces should take a more direct role in training. There is more of a mixed response in regard to whether workplaces should take a more direct role in assessment.

We look forward to receiving more viewpoints prior to a full analyses and publication of the survey results by Griffith University.

The survey is open to anyone that participates in the VET system – whether you are an employer, a training provider, a trainer or assessor, a student or graduate, or any other stakeholder.

It will take less than 10 minutes to express your views on a better future for skills and training.
