Our Role Establishing Skills Insight JSC

Skills Impact held a Skills Service Organisation (SSO) role between 2016 and 2022. In 2023 we established one of ten Job and Skills Councils (JSCs), after a submission to move into the role was backed by over 200 letters of support from a broad range of industry stakeholders. This new JSC, Skills Insight, has a broader scope to deliver outcomes that support a responsive VET system and a skilled and resilient national workforce. The industry coverage of Skills Insight is similar to our past coverage as a Skills Service Organisation.

Validation Sought On New Unit For Operating Tractors With Attachments

The final draft unit of competency for operating tractors with attachments is now available for validation. Thank you to those that provided feedback on the draft that was made available for consultation between 25 January – 20 February 2018.

All feedback has been considered and the final draft version of this unit is now available for industry validation, until 22 April 2018.

This new unit was developed in response to industry feedback received during the consultation stage for the draft Certificate III in Rural Machinery Operations and related units. Feedback from industry was that there was a need for an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) level three unit, for operating high powered tractors with attachments.

Validation means checking and confirming that the unit is logical and factually accurate.
