Update on Food & Beverage Processing Project

In response to consumer demand and trends, the food and beverage processing industry is adopting innovations to improve traceability, control contaminants, and further automate processes.

Work is now underway to review the current food and beverage processing qualifications so that they reflect today’s work practices and job roles. With the help of industry feedback, units of competency have been grouped into common sectors, as follows:

  • Allergens and traceability
  • Baking and Production Baking
  • Beverages
  • Cheese and Dairy Processing
  • Confectionery and Chocolate
  • Eggs, Fruit, Vegetables & Nuts
  • Fats and Oils
  • Flour, Grains and Milling
  • Food sales
  • General units (equipment & maintenance, food safety, health & safety, packaging)

You are invited to provide initial feedback on the units and identify any skills gaps or areas for improvement.
