Our Role Establishing Skills Insight JSC

Skills Impact held a Skills Service Organisation (SSO) role between 2016 and 2022. In 2023 we established one of ten Job and Skills Councils (JSCs), after a submission to move into the role was backed by over 200 letters of support from a broad range of industry stakeholders. This new JSC, Skills Insight, has a broader scope to deliver outcomes that support a responsive VET system and a skilled and resilient national workforce. The industry coverage of Skills Insight is similar to our past coverage as a Skills Service Organisation.

Thoroughbred Breeders Australia’s 2023 Fast Track Applications Open – Closing soon

The Thoroughbred Breeders Australia (TBA) Fast Track program offers a pathway for talented horse people to enter the industry. Applications for the 2023 program are now open for students.

Successful Fast Track applicants commence a full-time traineeship with a stud farm while studying for a Certificate III in Horse Breeding – a nationally recognised formal qualification.

The program targets people from outside the industry with previous graduates originating from diverse backgrounds.

An essential part of the program is student placements on stud farms, so TBA is also calling for studs from across Australia to contact them if they are interested in taking on a trainee.

The Certificate III in Horse Breeding was updated as part of a national project in 2019. Skills Impact worked with horse breeding experts from around the country to revise the qualification so it reflected current skills, knowledge and practices required to work in a range of job roles across all types of horse breeding.
