Skills Standards Endorsed by the AISC

As we look towards begining new projects for a range of industries, many of the skills standards reviewed and developed over the past twelve months are getting closer to being available. The final draft skills standards for the below projects have been endorsed by the Australian Industry and Skills Council. They will now be considered by State and Territory Ministers and following their endorsement, they will become available training.gov.au. For more information, visit the individual project pages.

Fishtech & Aquabotics

Updates skills standards to reflect the increasing use of new remote underwater technologies in the aquaculture and wild catch industry.

Work with Crocodiles

Captures the skills required for work with crocodiles across a range of environments and job roles, and spanning multiple industries.

Game Harvesting Auditing

Defines the skills required to audit mobile chillers or ‘depots’ used to transport game meat from harvester to processor.

Halal Meat Processing

Supports consistent halal standards in Australia by capturing the necessary skills in one new skill set and two new units.

Poultry Processing

Describes skills standards in poultry processing and addressing gaps in the availability of endorsed training.

New Timber Harvesting Technology

Captures the technical and digital skills required to work in timber harvesting with a range of new and existing technologies.

Timber Merchandising

Revises skills standards in timber building products supply, so that they better match current industry terminology, job roles and practices.

Timber Truss and Frame Estimating and Design

Updates current skills standards for timber truss and frame estimating and manufacture to better reflect industry job roles.
