Protected Horticulture Qualifications and Units Available for Validation

You’re invited to provide feedback on the redrafted qualifications and units of competency for protected horticulture.

They have been developed as part of the Horticulture Technology Project. This project relates to job skills within both protected horticulture and irrigation. We expect the final draft qualifications, skill sets and units for irrigation to be available for validation mid-March. They are still being reviewed and revised in light of feedback received during the ‘Drafts Available’ stage.

The new protected horticulture qualifications and units are a reflection of a growing industry, and represent a desire to address the knowledge and skills gaps in an increasingly important field of agriculture.

This round of feedback is about checking the documents are logical and factually accurate. Let us know whether the final drafts accurately reflect the current industry skills standards, knowledge and practices and whether all job functions are accurately described.

You’re encouraged to provide comment on as many of the draft documents as are relevant to you. Please feel free to share them with others who may be interested.
