Permaculture, Organic Production & Composting Projects Submitted to AISC for Endorsement

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the Permaculture, Organic Production & Composting projects over the past 12 months. As a result of your input, the draft qualifications, skill sets and units have been finalised and submitted to the Australian Industry and Skills Committee. Once endorsed by the AISC, the drafts will be forwarded to the state and territory skills ministers for their endorsement, and published on the national training register (training.gov.au).

Over the past 12 months, industry has provided feedback on national skills standards for permaculture, organic production and composting. Using this information qualifications, skill sets and units haveĀ been restructured and updated to reflect the skills required to provide for human needs in a way that works with natural processes and ecology.

Consultation has taken place so that the skills for permaculture, composting and organic production are incorporated throughout agriculture qualifications, as they are useful and necessary across a range of job roles and environments.

Updates have been made to remove barriers to training delivery and better reflect job tasks. This includes descriptions of skills for compliance with certification schemes and regulations, environmental/human health, product quality compliance and work, health and safety (WHS).
