Our Role Establishing Skills Insight JSC

Skills Impact held a Skills Service Organisation (SSO) role between 2016 and 2022. In 2023 we established one of ten Job and Skills Councils (JSCs), after a submission to move into the role was backed by over 200 letters of support from a broad range of industry stakeholders. This new JSC, Skills Insight, has a broader scope to deliver outcomes that support a responsive VET system and a skilled and resilient national workforce. The industry coverage of Skills Insight is similar to our past coverage as a Skills Service Organisation.

Three Meat Processing Units for Additional Feedback

Thank you to those who participated in the validation process for the final draft units of competency and skill sets, developed as part of the Meat Processing Project. The documents have undergone an independent quality assurance process. Further Animal Care & Management Units Available for Feedback

We are seeking feedback on additional changes made to some units of competency out of the Animal Incident Management and Horse Education projects. The changes are based on feedback that was received on the drafts that were made available throughout February and early March. Training Provider News

The first survey of Australia’s VET workforce by the NCVER launches in March 2019. This Australia-wide survey will provide a better picture of those working in registered training organisations, which will help with future planning and support of the VET workforce. NCVER will publish data from the survey in July 2019. Please see the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) promotional flyer and website for more information about the survey and how to take part.

Skills Forecasts

Draft IRC Skills Forecasts for 2019-2020 will become available for viewing on our website during March. We will be seeking your feedback on the priority skills areas that have been outlined in each document. Skills Forecasts describe industry trends, opportunities, challenges, and identify skills gaps and emerging skills needs. They propose a four year plan for reviewing and developing relevant units, skill sets and qualifications across the training packages.
