Our Role Establishing Skills Insight JSC

Skills Impact held a Skills Service Organisation (SSO) role between 2016 and 2022. In 2023 we established one of ten Job and Skills Councils (JSCs), after a submission to move into the role was backed by over 200 letters of support from a broad range of industry stakeholders. This new JSC, Skills Insight, has a broader scope to deliver outcomes that support a responsive VET system and a skilled and resilient national workforce. The industry coverage of Skills Insight is similar to our past coverage as a Skills Service Organisation.

Indigenous Methods Included in TAFE Conservation & Land Management Course

A story featured by ABC last week highlights the work of Nyungar elder Clint Hansen, who is demonstrating the value of Indigenous regenerative land management principles for helping western agriculture and conservation move into the future. Indigenous conservation methods and western agricultural practices will be combined in a Certificate II in Conservation and Land Management, which Hansen is teaching through Geraldton’s Central Regional TAFE and Batavia Coast Maritime Institute. Green Walls and Rooftop Gardens Units and Skill Sets Available for Validation

Thank you to those who provided feedback on the units and skill sets developed for constructing, designing and maintaining roof gardens, vertical gardens and green facades. New Projects Approved for 2020-21

We are excited about commencing work on new projects that have just been approved by the Australian Industry and Skills Council (AISC). The AISC are in the process of considering the projects submitted by IRCs in this year’s Annual Updates to the Skills Forecasts. One Step Closer to New Skills Standards for Working with Fishtech & Crocodiles

Many industry experts have volunteered their time and expertise to projects to update and improve skills standards for working with fishtech and crocodiles. Advanced Wine Operations Skills Standards Published

Thanks to the input of experts across Australia, the coordination and leadership skills that are required of people working in cellar operations and bottling and packaging are now documented in new national units of competency.
