Our thoughts are with our stakeholders who are still being impacted by the bushfires, drought and floods in Australia and now COVID-19. Information about available assistance can be found at the FarmHub website. Skills Impact operations and activities continue during these challenging times, with necessary adjustments to our consultation activities. Stakeholder availability is limited and we are following all government mandates and recommendations in relation to COVID-19, with all staff working from home on an ongoing basis. Our interactions are now only by email, phone, video conferencing and the feedback hub. Please continue to feel free to contact us by these methods. Greyhounds & Equine Safety in Training Projects Finalised

The qualifications, skill sets and units of competency that were reviewed and developed as part of the Greyhounds Project and Equine Safety in Training Project are now published on training.gov.au.  It follows endorsement by the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) and means they are available for delivery by registered training organisations (RTOs). Farriery Project: Feedback Sought on Draft Qualification & Units

The Farriery Project has now moved to the ‘consultation’ stage, which means the draft Certificate IV in Farriery, related skill set and units are now available for your review and feedback. The farriery qualification has been revised from an Australian Qualifications Framework level three to a level four, to reflect the level of work. Three new units of competency have also been created to reflect the job role. Last week, Australia Celebrated National Agricultural Day (AgDay). November 21st was a day to celebrate the remarkable contribution of agriculture to Australia’s economy and society. AgDay is a national initiative supported in its development by the National Farmers’ Federation and the Federal Department of Agriculture & Water Resources (DAWR). Two new projects are now underway in the timber and forest industry to review units of competency, skill sets and qualifications, relating to skills in Prefabricated and Cross Laminated Timber Building Systems. Forest Harvesting Optimisation Project Endorsed

The Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) has approved the Case for Endorsement for the updated and revised units of competency, along with a Companion Volume Implementation Guide. The revised units will be released on to training.gov.au by the end of 2017, contained within the FWP Forest and Wood Products Training Package. Once published on training.gov.au, the units will be available for use by registered training organisations (RTOs). Delivery, as always, is dependent on enrolment demand for the course, so please contact your training provider to get this training … Read More
