Our Role Establishing Skills Insight JSC

Skills Impact held a Skills Service Organisation (SSO) role between 2016 and 2022. In 2023 we established one of ten Job and Skills Councils (JSCs), after a submission to move into the role was backed by over 200 letters of support from a broad range of industry stakeholders. This new JSC, Skills Insight, has a broader scope to deliver outcomes that support a responsive VET system and a skilled and resilient national workforce. The industry coverage of Skills Insight is similar to our past coverage as a Skills Service Organisation.

New Pharmaceutical Learning Resources

A range of resources and tools are now available to support training delivery of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Operator Induction Skill Set. The skill set was developed to support the pharmaceutical industry in their urgent response to the COVID-19 health crisis. The National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) is gathering vital information about employer’s training needs and their satisfaction with the training system. Expansion of Wage Subsidies for New Trainees

The Government is expanding the Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements wage subsidy program. The Program will now become demand driven and expanded for a full 12 months for new apprentices and trainees signed up prior to 30 September 2021. This is a great opportunity, with a 50 per cent wage subsidy available to businesses that take on new apprentices or trainees.
