Our Role Establishing Skills Insight JSC

Skills Impact held a Skills Service Organisation (SSO) role between 2016 and 2022. In 2023 we established one of ten Job and Skills Councils (JSCs), after a submission to move into the role was backed by over 200 letters of support from a broad range of industry stakeholders. This new JSC, Skills Insight, has a broader scope to deliver outcomes that support a responsive VET system and a skilled and resilient national workforce. The industry coverage of Skills Insight is similar to our past coverage as a Skills Service Organisation.

Draft Qualifications and Skills Standards Available for Feedback Soon

Two projects are under way to revise the national qualifications and skills standards that capture skills in sawmilling and timber processing, and responding and assisting during bushfires. Drafts of these documents are currently in development and will be available for review and comment soon.

Qualifications & Skills Standards for Entry Level, High Level & Remote Forestry Published

Thanks to everyone involved in the projects below, updated qualifications and skills standards have now been published to support career pathways, safety practices, and high level forestry skills. The final draft qualifications, skill sets and units were endorsed by the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) and State and Territory Ministers. They are now published on the National Training Register (training.gov.au).

A Move to Industry Clusters
