Our Role Establishing Skills Insight JSC

Skills Impact held a Skills Service Organisation (SSO) role between 2016 and 2022. In 2023 we established one of ten Job and Skills Councils (JSCs), after a submission to move into the role was backed by over 200 letters of support from a broad range of industry stakeholders. This new JSC, Skills Insight, has a broader scope to deliver outcomes that support a responsive VET system and a skilled and resilient national workforce. The industry coverage of Skills Insight is similar to our past coverage as a Skills Service Organisation.

Opportunity to Comment on Final Draft Diploma & Advanced Diploma

Thank you to those who provided feedback on the additional updates to the Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Meat Processing in July.

Your feedback has been considered to produce final versions of the qualifications, which are now available for validation and comment.

These updated skills standards will support leadership and management skills in meat processing, helping industry keep up with strong global and local demands for Australian meat.

Based on feedback, minor changes have been made to the qualification descriptions to differentiate outcomes at each level in accordance with Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) and outcomes required by the industry. Some units have been moved between levels and placed in either the Diploma or Advanced Diploma, in accordance with the outcomes required at each level. Several units have also been removed, where there was duplication and/or similarities between units.
