NSW Industry Training Advisory Body (ITAB)

Skills Impact is now responsible for putting in place arrangements in NSW to support industry-led advice to the NSW government on training and skills related matters, including the NSW Smart and Skilled program. This industry advice will support the VET system for the following industries in NSW:

  • Agriculture, Horticulture and Conservation and Land Management
  • Animal Care and Management
  • Australian Meat Processing (Supported by MINTRAC)
  • Food, Beverage and Pharmaceutical
  • Racing and Breeding
  • Seafood

Skills Impact works with these industries at national level, as part of our Skills Service Organisation contract, providing advice to the Government about national skills needs. We are excited to be putting in place NSW based mechanisms that will work independently of our SSO function in these industries at a state level. A NSW based ITAB executive officer and a NSW based industry engagement officer will provide advice to the NSW Government on NSW specific training and skill needs based on industry and RTO feedback in NSW.

As we work to establish this NSW focused mechanism, please feel free to contact Skills Impact through the relevant Industry Engagement Manager or through Executive Manager, Industry Engagement, Geoff Barbaro, if you live or work in NSW and wish to be involved.
