Nominations Open for Animal Care and Management Industry Reference Committee

The Australian Industry Skills Committee (AISC) is calling for nominations for vacant positions on the Animal Care and Management Industry Reference Committee (IRC).

The Animal Care and Management IRC will have responsibility for overseeing the development of skills standards and qualifications within the ACM Animal Care and Management Training Package.

The Committee is looking for individuals with extensive experience in and knowledge of their industry sector, with the capacity to proactively apply these attributes to the work of the IRC.

The AISC is calling for nominations for the following vacant positions:

  • 3 positions are open to individuals with particular expertise/access to networks in one or more of the following sub sectors of Veterinary and related services:
    • Companion animals
    • Livestock animals
    • Animal and livestock breeding
    • Equine dentistry
    • Farriery
  • 1 organisational position from Veterinary Nurses Council of Australia Inc.
  • 1 organisational position from Australian Veterinary Association.
  • 2 positions are open to individuals with particular expertise in the care, handling and welfare of animals and with access to industry networks in which there is commercial use of animals, including:
    • Racing
    • Stock work
    • Sports and Recreation
    • Security
  • 1 position is open to an individual with particular expertise/access to networks in one or more of the following sub sectors of animal breeding services:
    • Livestock breeding
    • Horse breeding
    • Pet and companion animal breeding
    • Conservation breeding
  • 2 positions are open to individuals with particular expertise/access to networks in one or more of the following sub sectors of Pet and companion animal services:
    • Training
    • Boarding
    • Grooming
  • 2 positions are open to individuals  with particular expertise/access to networks in one or more of the following sub sectors of Captive wildlife operations:
    • Zoo
    • Wildlife parks
    • Aquariums
    • Animal circuses
    • Mobile animal displays
  • 1 position is open to an individual with particular expertise/access to networks in one or more of animal research and breeding facilities, biomedical research and production environments.
  • 1 position is open to an individual with particular expertise/access to networks in one or more of the following sub-sectors:
    • Hunting and trapping
    • Animal control and regulation

Nominations are open until COB Thursday 23 March 2017.
