Next Steps for Agronomy Skills Standards

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the development of national skills standards in agronomy.

Your input has resulted in the creation of two new units, one skill set and a new national Diploma of Applied Agronomy, as well as the review of six existing units. They have been developed to support the hands-on skills needed by industry to put agronomy science into action, supporting farmers to get the best long term results from the land.

The final draft documents will soon move into the finalisation stage, involving a thorough edit and equity and quality assurance process and review by from the State/Territory Training Authorities. They will then be forwarded to the IRC for consideration and sign off before they are submitted for endorsement by the Australian Industry and Skills Committee. Once endorsed the new skills standards will be available for use.
