New Project: Work Safely Around Animals (Infection Control)

The Australian Industry Skills Committee (AISC) has approved a new project for the animal care and management industry.

The Work Safely Around Animals (Infection Control) Projectwill review five existing units of competency (listed below) from within the ACM Animal Care and Management Training Package. The aim of this project is to document infection control outcomes and activities that need to be carried out by workers in the animal care and management industry.
A key focus of the project is to define the skills and knowledge to minimise the transfer of disease from animals to workers in this industry. Relevant occupations include; veterinarians, veterinary nurses, farmers, livestock and horse handlers, and abattoir workers.

We encourage anyone who would like to be involved to register their interest to receive project updates.
