New Horse Care Project Underway

A new project has commenced to update the skills standards for a range of job roles involved in caring for horses. This project looks at addressing two key skills priorities in the sector, the need for safety skills to be embedded across work tasks and the need to support the career journey of those working in horse care roles.

The project will look at the skills standards and qualifications to support a wide range of careers in the horse care industry, from stablehand or groom, to a saddle fitter, nutritionist, massage therapist or equine dentist.

The draft qualifications and skills standards will become available for broad industry feedback in mid-February 2021. An alert will be sent out through this newsletter once the they are available for comment.
