Legislation for Jobs and Skills Australia Passed

Jobs and Skills Australia is an interim statutory body that will provide independent advice on current, emerging and future workforce, skills and training needs.

Consultation on the final model for Jobs and Skills Australia is underway.

Jobs and Skills Australia (JSA) will build on the work started by the National Skills Commission (NSC) and have a broader remit, focusing on workforce planning and fostering working partnerships with state and territory governments, unions, industry, and education providers.

It will continue to advise the government and publish data and other information, including Australia’s current and emerging labour market, future skills and training needs and priorities, and the adequacy of the vocational education and training system.
