The National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) recently released a report revealing that students enrolled in government-funded vocational education and training (VET) in 2021 were up by 5% compared with 2020.

The report also showed that in 2021, most students were enrolled in nationally recognised training (95.9%) and the remainder in non-nationally recognised training.

In 2021, 1,198,500 students were enrolled in nationally recognised training and 98,400 in non-nationally recognised training, which was an increase from 2020. Most of those enrolled in nationally recognised training (80.4% or 963,900) were undertaking training package qualifications.
