Forestry & Timber Projects Qualifications & Units Available for Feedback

You are invited to review draft qualifications and units of competency relating to Sawmill Timber and Process Optimisation and Wood Machining and Sawdoctoring.

It is important that these documents reflect real work experience. We are seeking your feedback on whether the draft qualifications and units reflect current job roles, industry skills standards, knowledge and practices and whether all job functions are accurately described.

The draft qualifications, skill sets and units will be available on the Skills Impact website for feedback until 15 February 2019.

Sawmill Timber and Process Optimisation Project

Six new units have been developed and 11 units revised to address skills requirements for optimisation of timber and material flow within sawmills.

Advances in Woodmachining and Sawdoctoring Project

Two qualifications and 41 units have been reviewed and 10 new units of competency developed (across both projects) to address technological advancements and a competative business environment in woodmachining and sawdoctoring.
