Expansion of Wage Subsidies for New Trainees

The Government is expanding the Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements wage subsidy program. The Program will now become demand driven and expanded for a full 12 months for new apprentices and trainees signed up prior to 30 September 2021.

This is a great opportunity, with a 50 per cent wage subsidy available to businesses that take on new apprentices or trainees.

The 100,000 places that were originally made available were quickly taken up. It is estimated that this expansion will generate around 70,000 new apprentice and trainee places.

Do you know a young person in your community who is looking for work? It is a great opportunity to give back to the community and help somebody looking for a job, offering them a career in your sector!

If you have been wanting to upskill new or existing staff as part of a traineeship we encourage you to enquire about how the funding could apply to your business.

How to Apply

Contact your local apprenticeship network provider. They will talk to you about your unique requirements and discuss how the funding could apply to your business.
