The arboriculture units of competency, skill sets and qualifications are going through the AISC endorsement process.
The rules around the use of Minimum Industry Standards (MIS) in training packages is being considered. There is also concern as to whether there is a demonstrated need for the proposed higher level qualifications.
Skills Impact is working with the State Training Authorities on the best way of supporting the use of those standards within current policy interpretations. Skills Impact will continue to support the IRC to find ways to resolve these issues with a view to ensuring an updated training package is available to this industry as soon as possible.
