Arboriculture Skills Standards Update

The arboriculture units of competency, skill sets and qualifications are going through the AISC endorsement process.

Additional information supporting the need for the higher-level qualifications has been submitted to the AISC for consideration at the next meeting on the 25 February 2020.

The Amenity Horticulture, Landscaping, Conservation and Land Management IRC has also approved modifications to the Case for Endorsement and 12 units of competency which removed direct references to Arboriculture Australia’s Minimum Industry Standards (MIS) from specific units of competency and replaced with a generic reference to current national recognised industry standards. Guidance around the MIS has been included in the Implementation Guide to ensure trainers remain aware of the development of standards by the arboriculture industry and statutory bodies.
