2018 IRC Skills Forecasts Underway

Our Industry Facilitation Managers have been out and about visiting different industry sites and organisations over the past few months. They have been meeting with many of you to gain information about skills gaps, priorities and drivers in your sector. Along with other research, this information is documented in draft IRC Skills Forecasts and Proposed Schedules of Work which are then subject to wider consultation. They are then considered by the relevant Industry Reference Committees (IRCs), prior to submission to the Australian Industry Skills Committee (AISC).

The IRC Skills Forecasts and Proposed Schedules of Work identify skills gaps and emerging skills needs within industry and determine whether there is a need to change training packages (i.e. units of competency and qualifications). The AISC draws on this information to update their AISC National Schedule, and to determine future Training Package Projects.

The draft IRC Skills Forecast and Proposed Schedule of Work will be available on the Skills Impact website for broad consultation, before they are submitted to the Australian Industry Skills Committee (AISC) in April.
