Our Role Establishing Skills Insight JSC

Skills Impact held a Skills Service Organisation (SSO) role between 2016 and 2022. In 2023 we established one of ten Job and Skills Councils (JSCs), after a submission to move into the role was backed by over 200 letters of support from a broad range of industry stakeholders. This new JSC, Skills Insight, has a broader scope to deliver outcomes that support a responsive VET system and a skilled and resilient national workforce. The industry coverage of Skills Insight is similar to our past coverage as a Skills Service Organisation.

Skills Insight JSC Now Established

AgFutures Project Community Launch

Update on Skills Insight JSC

The team are excited to be engaging with stakeholders to establish Skills Insight as a Jobs and Skills Council (JSC). One part of this work is establishing Skills Insight’s Membership base and formal stakeholder network, who will guide Skills Insight’s work. Skills Standards for Australian Native and Bush Food Published

Working with Australian native plants for food requires unique skills across the supply chain. As the industry expands, it is important that the expertise for this work is captured in national skills standards. As a result of industry input into this project, new skills sets and unit are now published on the national training register (training.gov.au) and available for use by registered training organisations (RTOs).

Meat Processing, General, Quality and Safety Skills Project Published

Thank you to everyone who has provided feedback throughout this project to update general, safety and quality skills across the meat processing industry. As a result of your efforts, the revised qualifications and skills standards have been endorsed by the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) and state and territory skills ministers. They are now published on the national training register (training.gov.au) and available for use by registered training organisations (RTOs).

Training Package Projects Published

The remainder of the projects undergone in 2022 are now endorsed and published on the national training register (training.gov.au). The qualifications and skills standards support core skills across the agriculture, horticulture, conservation and ecosystem management, and meat processing industries. They also describe skills required for important cultural sites work and on Country land management, and for working with Australian native and bush foods.
