Skills Forecasts describe industry skills gaps, emerging markets and changing work methods. They propose a four year plan for reviewing and developing units, skill sets and qualifications for the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector. The Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) draws on this information to update their AISC National Schedule, and to determine future Training Package Projects. The AISC has published a communique from their meetings on the 25th and 26th of February. One of the key themes the AISC focused on over the two meetings was continuous improvement, which includes the ongoing work on further streamlining the training product development system, including the AISC’s processes.
